Converting WAV to MP3

I want to be able to post clips so I registered on soundclick. You have to upload songs in mp3 format. The stuff i record is in wav. How do I convert? I use Cubebase.

you could change the format to mixdown to mp3 instead of WAV in the preferences in cubase, or use something like audacity to open the wav and render it to mp3. six of one, half dozen of the other.

Cubase said my "trial expired" and that I have to purphase the MP3 something. Not sure why anythign expired. What is audacity?

I use lame.

It's high-quality mode (at same bitrate) is very valuable.

Audacity is a free DAW program. You can get a free version of the Lame MP3 encoder to use with it... its all explained here:

When I was using Windoze, I'd use CDEx to convert WAV to MP3.

LAME is the way to go if you care about sound quality.

keep in mind soundclick does a low-fi thing if you're a free subscriber (at least I think it does), so any thing going into it gets crappified anyway. true?

I've never had any quality issues with using 192 through audacity. but in general, it's not excactly a pro program that's for sure.
