I loved the Vintage Rails between my two CR's, but I didn't like the drop in volume when I switched to it by itself. So I had an idea . . . and just happened to have another Cool Rails (bridge) sitting on the shelf. I stuck it in the middle and wired it in parallel. The CR and VR are voiced similar, and it worked great. Has the same basic tonality of the VR but with a bit more volume.
Its funny how things work out. It appears as though my favorite guitar setup is 3 Cool Rails in a Strat. Even though they're the same pickup, all the sounds are different. In the same ballpark, but different. I have this set up so that I can have any combo, and the only one I'm not crazy about is the neck and bridge CR's on together. Just a tad too much midrange quack. On the other hand, all three on at once is my favorite guitar tone. Very Mark Knopfler-ish.
I think this one's a "keeper".
