Well, you do start doing a lot of things by hand.....hand saws, lots of sanding etc. I make guitars, but still sand the fretboard with a radius block rather than the sanding jig they use.....and fret slots are sawn by hand.

A router, drill press and maybe some kind of dropsaw are the main ones I use, with a myriad of small hand tools you'd see in most sheds will do you.

I'll see how this kit build goes and then maybe try making a Tele body.

Doug also resides over at Mark Wein's forum and actually has a thread where you can ask him luthiery questions, and just posts in general, too.

In case you're wondering why he's been quiet lately, he's been dealing with a newborn named Lucy.
