Cool Guitar Knobs?

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

Stew-Mac has a few cool ones, and Guitar Electronics has a few more. At work, we have a "knob" catalog, but I'll have to wait 'til Monday to get the companies name.

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

Thanx, Artie!
Q-Parts looks like they're making some interesting stuff.

I'm looking for a new knob for my ESP Kamikaze, and I would love to find a knob that has a Japanese character on the top, or find a company that will custom make one for me.

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

haha i actually like the stock gretsch ones, they look like pistons

or the dice ones on the setzer...just cool

yeah, i know that didn't help, but, oh well

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

I wonder how hard it would be to get one of those abalone ones from Stew-Mac, dig out the inlay, lay your own graphic down, and put a clear cover back in?

Just a thought. ;)

I had a similar thought, which was to get a flat topped chrome knob, have it custom engraved, and then having that painted ...
Hmmmm .....

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

That would look cool too. In fact, I've seen something like that once before in another application. If I recall, they carved out whatever letters, or pattern that they wanted, then simply "dipped" the end in red paint, and wiped it off. The paint, of course, stayed down in the "grooves". Looked killer.

I believe it was something in an automotive mag . . . from many moons ago.

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

Cool site, usgagi ... I'm going to email them and ask if they will custom make something.
Bummer they only deal in plastic, tho!

Re: Cool Guitar Knobs?

I've dealt with Roger at THG Knobs in the past (http://www.thgknobs.com/), and he does some amazing work. Seems like he'll make anything within his power out of pretty much any type of wood.. I'd say drop him a line and see what he can do.

Thanx! This is probably what I'm looking for.
I only need one knob, so I'm not too concerned about the price.
I love the Pac Man control knobs!! :D
