Cool noiseless OOP sound.

I don't know if this is particularly new, but I find out nice way to have noiseless out of phase P90s or split HBs. Now I know this is a very specific tip that doesn't apply to most situations, but if you wire a guitar so that a certain position is noiseless and then flip the magnet to reverse the magnetic polarity, it maintains the noiselessness.

The science is that only the coils pick up hum and they are wired out of phase, but the magnets are both the same orientation, so the two pickups cancel both noise and signal. Depending on the pickups, it doesn't cancel 100% of the 60 cycle hum, but it cancels quite a lot if it.

I am willing and able to take full credit for having made the lives of maybe 2 people slightly easier.

Re: Cool noiseless OOP sound.

This is different than that, I'm saying that if you have a set of HBs, one split to slug and the other to screw, and then wire one backwards, the OOP sound in the middle position will have noise. But if you instead reverse the orientation of the magnet, the middle position will be hum-cancelling. This also works on P90s and if you have a Tele and the neck and bridge aren't RW/RP, then you can switch the hot and ground for the same affect.

Basically I'm saying the Peter Green mod leads to a noiseless middle position if both pickups are split.
