Cool pedal alart: Morley FX Blender

Heres a really clever idea that I just came across and bought this afternoon

The Morely FX Blender

Its basically a bypass looper box but instead of a switch, its got an expression pedal so you can smoothly blend in the effects loop.

This is proving to be really cool with rotary speaker and vibrato sounds. I put my CE1 in the loop (which is needs anyways) and then as I toe down on the pedal, I bring in the vibrato effected single.

Theres no blend control on the CE1 either, so this is a nice way to add just a touch of vibrato to the signal, or to go full on for some chord stabs in the chorus etc

Fun and versatile pedal that can open up some new idea's.

Its normally $99 but music123 had $15 off for spending $100 so I also bought some pics and saved $15

Free shipping on orders over $100 as well so it came to about $86.xx total shipped

I'm impressed so far

I've been in the market for a line mixer/blender for a while now and was JUSt reading about that one last night...glad to hear it works well, maybe it's time to get one!

I think Im gonna need a bigger pedal board!

That is seriously cool. I'm pretty sure David Gilmour uses one, or at least something like it, on his delay. I caught part of the On The Island DVD and saw him using some kind of rocker pedal to fade his delay in and out.

Are you thinking of the intro to Shine on You Crazy Diamond?

He has split the signal into two: one that goes through his Boss FV-500 volume pedal and continues into other effects to make that ambient sound, another one goes more or less straight into the mix.

edit: no, thinking about it, that was not the On the Island DVD. But I might venture to guess he's using the same?

That would be a cool way of adjusting the balance between a dry tone and delay/modulation/reverb.

Steve Morse's rig was set up something like that, at least it was years ago when I read about it. He used an Ernie Ball volume pedal to bring in delay when he wanted it.

Re: Cool pedal alart: Morley FX Blender

John Petrucci does that too, and I think he doesn't just control the wet/dry balance on his delay, but also the amount of feedback.

Pretty cool if you ask me.

Yeah, in typical Morley fashion, it does take up a chunk of space, but it does play a pretty cool role
