Cool Rail question?

Hi Folks, I have recently sold an SD bridge Coolrails on ebay to a foreign buyer who states it only works in single coil mode and not as a humbucker.

I have had the pickup in a 70's strat for many years with no problems and got pics of the test buyer has done showing black and white wire output at 4.78 and red & green at 1.

I'm not very well versed on pickup wiring/testing and would like some advice on the test as I will happily refund him if pickup is faulty even though I will have to pay return foreign postage.

Sorry if this info is in another post but I couldn't find it.

Many thanks in advance.

Litto.

Yes, that 2nd picture does seem to indicate that 1 of the coils (or leads) is ded. Assuming that he is performing the test correctly and the red and green leads are both contacting the meter.

Thanks for quick reply..wonder how I was happy with it for years unless it somehow got damaged in transit.

I just needed to check as its going to cost me postage and I will now have a defective pickup.

The one coil is shorted. I’d look at the lead wire. Sometimes they melt when you solder them. He might have done that if it was working when you sent it.

I’d just give him his money back and tell him he can keep the broken pickup.

BTW, this is why I don’t ship outside of the USA.
