That'd be my guess. I don't know of any other common pick material that's smooth enough to work.

I think he is plucking w/ fingers behind the pick. It’s not so much a pick line as real slide note

I did some tests with 2 metal picks i bought in the mean time, and the effect gets more defined when the pick is heavier. I guess if i could glue (with metal epoxy?) 3 of them (0.6mm) side by side, the effect would be spot on.

I like celluloid picks for any scraping sounds best, but they wear out so quickly lol
