Correct les paul wiring?!

Guys, I installed four 500-520k CTS pots, one .022 Hovland, one .022 Mallory in my LP and am using standard LP wiring. Any thoughts on going to a set up that will disconnect the cap or tone pot - I hear this really opens up the tone with pickups wound 14 - 17k?

Thanks guys!

Re: Correct les paul wiring?!

I've seen descriptions of a "nail polish mod" at the LPF. It involves putting nail polish on the end of the track inside the tone pot so that the track is disconnected when the tone knob is at 10. I guess it achieves the same as the no-load tone pots in Fender's Delta Tone system.

Does it equate to being harsh??

I've no idea, I haven't tried it. You could try temporarily unsoldering your tone pot to see whether you like the effect.
