Yeah, definitely not a Prestige, but a kickass guitar nonetheless. I believe I've heard that those were assembled in the USA from MIJ parts.

It's old, and I've owned at least one or two Ss with fins.

If you can talk him into taking the neck off, the model may be stamped in the pocket. I had an S540 like that.

There is a S Prestige model but it doesn't have any inlays other than what's on the 12th fret. Like JB said, that's an older model, mid-90's I'd say.

Wasn't the S series called the Sabre or something like that? I think they had the sharkfin inlays.

Saber, yes.

This seems to me like an old S540 or 540S. The bar on the 21st fret probably reads the words 'Custom made' laid in. This is not by any means a Prestige model, this one is from before that era. They are very good guitars though, and very well built.

Definitely a Saber. My guitar teacher when I first started playing had the first one that ever rolled off the assembly line. He worked at the factory at the time.

I believe it is a 540 as well. Really good stuff.

Rid!! Jeg har skal nok afsted på den højskole, har fundet penge til det. Jeg skal til NY på studie tur, så kan jeg få en Ibz S2170 eller endnu bedre en JEM!!!! FECK hvor bliver det nice.

TT: It sure does look like a S series. I'd buy it, they are great playing instruments.

B-Bent... Baah.. B bender is just a wannabee Floyd Rose system.
