Could use a little painting help

I'm currently in the middle of refinishing my Warmoth. I dyed the top a sort of blue-green burst and I'm on to the sanding sealer step. Being the idiot that I am, I managed to sand through the sanding sealer while level sanding, and I now have a band around the edge of the top that needs to be resprayed. Keeping in mind that I'm using water based dyes and nitro sanding sealer, is there a way to respray the edge without completely sanding down and starting all over again? Is there something I can mix the dye with other than water that will let me spray through the nitro sanding sealer?

Um, if I recall correctly (it's been a while, but I'm pretty sure), sand and sealer should come before the color, as it is not opaque and can alter or obscure the color. It's hard to say what you should do without seeing the piece, but if you don't think you can fix it good enough to where you'll be happy, maybe you should strip the body and start over. I did that with both guitars that I finished, as the initial color wasn't right. I busted out the lacquer thinner, stripped, and started over. A big pain, but I wanted them correct. Yup, I've been reading a lot on reranch lately. Sanding sealer had to come after the color in this case because I was using water based dyes and they won't go through nitro.

My plan as of this second is to mix some dye up with denatured alcohol and spray that right over the sanding sealer and everything.

Anyone have any better ideas? Anyone want to confirm that this should actually work?
