Counterfeit Alert!

Just a heads up, saw and reported this user on eBay. Active seller with a lot of feedback, but if you come across these, they are FAKE Seymour Duncans (Full Shred and Blackout sets)...don't buy!

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

The biggest problem I see these days are budget guitars with these counterfeits already installed. To the layperson, they look legit once in the guitar. Sad...

But if anyone comes across something like this, I urge them to report the seller and/or item(s) right away

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

People swap out generic asian pickups for Duncans. These folks put the useless asian pickups often in the empty SD package and store them. 10 years later anyone find the box and try to sell them 'as is'. Mischief done!

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

The seller in the OP is also selling a 'Klein' guitar that they admit was made by 'Eric Rifftone'...so they're just cheats.

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

Maybe threads such as this (there are others) should be made "stickys" (whatever it's called) so that one could check for fake SD pickups and these lowlifes before buying i.e. this sure does seem to be on the rise.

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

Well this seller should be brought to ebay’s attention then and this crap needs to stop.

I saw some EMG’s this past summer on a facebook group that had the most obvious fake logo font on the front, but honestly I can see ppl being fooled by that. It was a private seller and I asked him to post better pictures of it but next thing I knew they were taken off the market...

For the most part this counterfit stuff is fairly contained and it isnt an epidemic and the market flooded. But thats how theyre doing it cause its being trickled out there. Like buying a pack of gum with a counterfit $10 instead of a $100...

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

Problem is: before joining these forums and seeing threads like these I would never in my wildest dreams have thought to check if a pickup was a counterfeit or not. It’s just not something that would have occurred to me.

By the way: have you seen that other thread mentioning the new Kramer reissues??? May as well knock off a few $K off of my Blaze!!! KAPOW!!! LOL!!!

Re: Counterfeit Alert!

Same here and I tend not to get too caught up in this stuff either but it needs stomped out as it appears.

I don’t pay attention to the new ones so I didn’t see the new Gibson Kramers but Im gonna go look right now...get an old one and you’ll be much happier trust me.

Edit: good job on reporting that masta’ c I didnt catch that part.
