the crate i got is not really good you know.. the gain channel i use for some raspy clean and paired with my smash box it gives me a great 80's tone (think iron maiden-ish)
if i use the pedal on the clean channel it gives me a modern compressed tone.. sounds ok for pretty much anything
but the smash box.. well... the settings are 0, 1 and 2-the end
on 0 it sounds ****ty, like it's broken, on 1 it doesnt sound MUCH better and after 2 it all sounds the same, there is a slight change in compression after you get over the half, but thats it. it's a one trick pony =P
i need a pedal for that raunchy blues stuff. thing a overdrive type of sound, natural sounding and not gain
