Agreed. This thread was a simple question that turned into an ideological war. I am so tired of the generally misinformed and antagonistic online guitar community. Thanks for answering my questions.
3rd time: it's about additional options and innovation. Versatility. Some people are recreating the past. This is not that.
Also, drex, I what world should I or anyone on this forum be asked to defend their decision in the way that you present arguments. Guitar forums are full of small minded incoherent and uneducated cork sniffers citing all kinds of pseudo science about tone and their main goal is to recreate the past. That is not my goal.
I've never reviewed Fluence pickups. I've never made any claims as to how they sound, all I've done is draw attention to the specious claims that have been made about their technical and practical merits.
Speaking of reviews, there is not a single customer review for any of the Fishman Fluence offerings on Amazon, and few if any elsewhere. If anyone has bought a set, please leave a review.
Why not be one of the first DRE?
Then what are you basing your opinions on?
I have been to the factory
I saw them being assembled
I played them thru a 5150, JMC 800 and a Fender with a Slash Les Paul.
I got to compare the wave files of the Fluence vs a "traditional pickup" in Fishman's studio
But you read an internet article. Realy?
Your attitude makes me want to avoid them, because anyone asks questions, you verbally attack.
Which battery pack should I order for my PRS?
Is the classic humbucker genuinely comparable to PAF repros from today's boutique companies or are there trade offs?
The Fluence pickups are not active. Have you played them?
I personally work on a lot of extremely high end engineering projects and am often evaluating teams & methods toward the end goal. Based on that, when these were announced, I knew I was buying a set.
Hmm. Interesting.
