Will a standard humbucker pickup ring fit a Trembucker with a nickel cover on it?

No. You might be able to squeeze and manuever a non covered trembucker into a standard humbucker pickup ring, but a covered trembucker won't fit at all

Seymour Duncan provides a black plastic pickup ring that comes with its covered trembuckers. So if you bought a new one, you have nothing to worry about.

I wanted a gold plated ring since the guitar had gold hardware. Instead of getting a metal gold plated ring (not available), I had to paint it with gold metallic paint and clearcoat it. Close enough.

I called Seymour Duncan and the guy I talked to didn't know what I was talking about. Dumbass.
I looked at an image of one for sale on Ebay, and I could see the pickup ring clearly through the package.
