Crate V30 head?

Has any one tried one of these? I have heard good things about the V30 combo. I was originally thinking 15 watts, but the 30 offers an effects loop and a second channel.

I'm very close to buying a V32. Don't know the differences (other then that the v30 is a head and the v32 is a combo), but I think the V32 is excellent. Very Vox/Matchless-like. I never knew I liked that but I really did with this amp.

Go with the V30. You'll be wanting both of those channels (both of them are excellent). I've said it before and I'll say it again, those Crate V30 and V32 Palomino amps are some killer bang for the buck. It won't have the massive sound of a 50 or 100w amp, but you get a surprisingly big tone from 30w. I like my V32 better than the Bad Cat Hot Cat 30 I used to own and that was 4x the price of the Crate.

I had no idea they had a V30 head......hmmmmm

How much do they go for?

The 1x12 I played was a great little amp...the head thru a 4x10 is probably sweet:bigthumb:

I love it. did I say LOVE... because I do. This thing is awesome! I went through tons of amps trying the find the one that fit me the best, and this one stuck

I loved the V32 I tried, it'll be my next amp. If the V30 is anything like it, then it should be good. I think Kac owns one of the V30 heads.

So, is the V30 simply the head version of the Palomino V32?

If so, I might just have to get one to put on top of me Vox cab.

Looks good Kac. I really had my heart set on one of the Vox AC15 or 30's, but have heard to many bad things about their reliability. So I am going to look at the crate V30H and the THD univalve.

The crate is better. I really suck at descibing tones. Even with less wattage I get better cleans at just about every volume, so that's one thing.
The VK got a little grittier distortion, I could get metal tones out of it without an overdrive pedal. I'm pretty dependant on the OD pedal for the Crate, but I Love it. The distortion tones I'm getting now are better than the peavey.
