Critique my open mic set!

Re: Critique my open mic set!

I like the space in your guitar playing. But your vocals even tho they have a nice timbre sound like you are pushing too low and your notes waver around uncertainly. You should think about getting some lessons so you can learn ways to release the potential of your instrument. I don't think it will take a lot.

I will definitely consider it! I've been meaning to for a while and I'm starting to justify it...Thanks for the advice

The trick is to find one that suits you, so if you don't gel with the first teacher, try another till you are comfortable, happy and productive.

If your not super precious about the keys you play in on the guitar, you can always capo up to make the singing pop more. In the din of a bar or club, really low stuff can get lost.

Re: Critique my open mic set!

I was actually most impressed with your vocals. Great stuff all around.

Agreed, but I also agree with the vocal coach. It can't hurt. I used to have a pretty good range til I ****ed it all up singing incorrectly and out of my register. I wish I'd gone to a coach.
