Critique my vox?

Re: Critique my vox?

The vocals are completely processed, they fit the "song" fine.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm trying to get that poppy processed vocal sound.

Is there a reason you put "song" in quotes?

Re: Critique my vox?

It's done well for what it is, because it sounds like every pop song ever. I'm not a fan of the vocal delivery, very "peg-on-the-nose", untrained pop-punk sounding. The auto-tune to me is really overdone and I'm trying not to be rockist here.

Re: Critique my vox?

What or where is the Vox?

The vocals have a quality similar to Eric Johnson's. This is not a style of music I normally listen to so I have no frame of reference for comparison, but the song sounds very well put together.

Re: Critique my vox?

I think the song is great, and the vocals are fine too. You should just, imo, master the vocals a BIT louder, cause as far as i see, this type of music values the vocals a litle bit more than the rest, right?

Hey, I appreciate the honesty. I mean, its not my favorite style either. But like it or not, lots of cats want that sound, so I'll give it to them.

Hopefully the beat doesn't sound like every pop song ever, because unlike a lot of pop producers I'm actually classically trained on 3 instruments. Ke$sha eat your d@mn heart out :)

Re: Critique my vox?

I like this synth-pop kind of stuff.
Some of the backup vocals sounded a little out of tune, maybe because there's a phrase in there that's half-spoken, not sung.
The lead vocal was, of course in tune. It should be.

I actually think that stylistically, it's a little odd hearing that Black-Eyed-Peas type vocal sound in this style of music. I'm used to hearing some crooner, often with a Euro accent, like the guy in Xymox singing to this kind of music.

But there's much to be said for combining elements from a couple of slightly different genres to come up with something original, rather than restricting yourself to what's been done before in your particular genre.
