G'Day Everybody,
Just finished a new prototype of a a series of guitars I am calling the 'H' series.
The 'H' stands for hollow! not very imaginative am I?
OK specs:
hollow mahogany body, with a 7mm maple cap, Blue sunburst,
Planet waves locking tuners with the auto trim, very neat!
5 piece neck Qld Maple/Wenge/Eastern Mahogany/Wenge/Qld Maple
String through TOM bridge
Hand wound Pickups
push pull vol tone Vol/Neck pup, Tone/Bridge pup 3 way switch, 8 tonal variations
MOP inlays reflecting the sound holes, with Paua teardrops, 12th fret is Paua curve with pink mussel teardrops, Crossley neck to body join (if you have upper register frets, its good to be able to play them!)
Crossley flat neck profile
Ebony board

She is really resonant, plays almost like a semi accoustic, but growls when you give her some stick!

Would really like your opinions! YES PLEASE!!!

Cheers
Pete

Re: Crossley 'H' Series

very nice peter, solid center block or ?

No mate, she is just a block under the bridge and at the string thru position.

I have just given this little girl its first real sound check at volume,
Clean channel:
on single pole imagine a vintage tele plyed thru a Fender tweed in an empty community hall, VERY sparkly, combine the pickups, still both on single pole and you get that clean strat SRV type tones
On humbucking the guitar starts to sound more like a 335 or a Gretch with filtertrons, very clean, prescise sound, that doesnt muddy up like some of the Gibsons tend to do.

Gain Channel

This is where the guitar becomes a real surprise package, the hollow body adds so much 'colour' and depth to the tone. Add more gain and she start to scream, with that wonderful edge that you sometimes get when you have a JCM800 on about 4-5, actually more like a Bogner come to think of it.

This guitar seriously raised the hairs on the back of my neck, and nothing has done that to me since about 1975!!!

I will definetly be building more of these babies

And I know which guitar I will be picking up first at my next gig!!

Cheers
Pete
