Crossley Single Cut

This one is finished, bar the strap buttons, my brain is telling me to put the top button on the back of the guitar.. dunno? thoughts?

anyways body is African mahogany topped with 20mm of curly maple and bound cream/black/cream
neck is Curly maple/Ebony/SilkyOak/Purpleheart, with headstock plate from the same piece as the top.
Pickups are Chrome EMG 85's
Pearl Sperzels, Schaller bridge, strings through the body,
Fretboard is ebony with triple binding, Fairy is MOP, Paua and Red Abalone
25" scale 24 frets
neck join allows the use of the frets..........unlike another single cut company that shall remain nameless.....

Wow, nice! I don't like the strap button on the back- it unbalances everything, and the guitar is always falling forward. I understand not wanting it on the top bout, too, as it disturbs the lines. But I say put it there anyway, and recess it.

That fairy inlay really makes the whole thing seem like some kinda magic guitar the Lady of the Lake would give you when it's time to unite the kingdom with music. I really like it.

Re: Crossley Single Cut

How much you sell these for?

Do you build to order or is this something you build and then try to sell?

Re: Crossley Single Cut

beautiful as always! i agree with dave about the strap button, i dont like them on the back. with the arc of the upper bout, might be tricky to get a strap button that isnt at a poor angle though

Re: Crossley Single Cut

This is an overstatement in understatement as Crossley's go.

Very mild, very low key - but completely bad@$$. Love it!

both really...

give me a PM for prices, its a bit sort of uncool to stick them on a forum..
but, one thing in your favour... the US$ is high.. the Aussie$ is around 72-73 US cents...
so whatever the price, you only pay 3/4...

win/win....

I am always amazed at the detail in your guitars...sometimes so subtle it goes unnoticed by most. But since I am also a custom builder, I notice every detail.

You, my man, are an exceptional artist. I have always admired your work.

Re: Crossley Single Cut

lots of similarities with Ibanez arz800, sans the 5-piece neck. (single cut, 25", good fret access, etc)

This is true for alot of the single cut style guitars

And I'm thinking maybe call it monocut
Or unicut
Single slice
Mono slice
