Re: CTS Pots ID?

yeah CTS pots doesnt have CTS written on it.
i have a CTS 500k pot that says 'EP086 500K 0235'
even i cant tell if it really is a CTS pot..heh. got mine from guitarelectronics.com few years back i think

Re: CTS Pots ID?

i guess we got similar writings on the back of the pot, should be correct then :D

Re: CTS Pots ID?

it sais "EP686 500k 0608" on em

Those last four numbers are a date code. The first two "06" are the year the pot was built. The second two "08" are the week of the year they were built. CTS, has used this numbering system forever. It comes in handy when trying to date vintage instruments. Sometimes pot dates will date an instrument better than the serial number will.

Re: CTS Pots ID?

The EP086 and EP686 are AllParts part numbers. I do not know if allparts makes their own parts or if not who they source them from.

CTS pots usually have the 137 manufacturer code number stamped on the pot before the date code.
