Curious M13 line 6 modeler.

Ok who uses it and I need to know a few things about it before I even consider giving it a test drive.

1) Sound quality , in the past I have tried out many different Line 6 effects and never felt the quality was on the same level as Boss who actually makes effects instead of just modeling them. I'm a very long time Boss user and love the Delay and Reverb effects they make. OD pedals I like many brands. Wah same thing , I can use just about anyones and be happy as I don't use Wah hardly never.

2) 4 Cable method - this is something that the Boss GT series do very well but at a cost of loss of tone in your amp. Maybe not everyone feels as strongly about the change in tone that happens but it drives me insane. I'm very picky about the order of my effects , Out front of my amp I want Wah/volume , OD and thats about it , Then in the effects loop I use Delay , Reverb , Chorus and really I could stop there as all the other effects I rarely if ever use. I don't need much of anything else unless I want to goof around.

I looked at it and it seems to do everything I want it to do. Just would like some feedback on this unit before I take the trip. I plan on comparing it to the GT-10 and Gt-100.

Love the M13. I downsized to the M9, but had the M13 for a few years. Love the delay and reverbs, and even the ODs. Never used the 4cm with it, just straight in a clan amp, and it always sounded great.

I use the M5, which uses the same effects models as the M9/M13. I can't tell you anything about the cabling as it only does 1 effect at a time and my amp doesn't have an FX loop anyway. But I can tell you that most of the models are really good. I'm a bit dubious about some of the modulation effects, but I like the reverbs, delays and some of the overdrives a lot.

Very cool guys,
Anyone else use one or used one? I'd like to know about using the 4 cable method as I don't plan on just running it out front.

Re: Curious M13 line 6 modeler.

I used a friend's M13 for a little while and I liked it a lot. It is the only Line6 product that I have ever actually wanted to own. In fact, I almost put down a deposit on one the day before Daddy's Junky Music went out of business.

It is a decent way to get the best of both worlds - full digital fx with presets, but configured as four discrete stomp boxes. Each stomp unit can be reconfigured to run any available effect, so your patches can set up any chain of up to 4 stomp boxes. Then each unit has a couple of parameter encoder knobs and a bypass footswitch.

I really liked it when I've had the opportunity to play through one. But I haven't actually owned one, so can't answer your specific questions about using it in 4-cable mode. I also have not used it in front of an amp, so can't speak to how interactive it is.

Re: Curious M13 line 6 modeler.

I owned an M5 and an M9, both are really amazing. I wasn't that impressed with the drive sounds but everything else is top quality. Those products made me a huge Line 6 fan.
