Alas, this beauty must sit in its case in the back room at the local mega mart while I wait for the holding period to run out.

You complete and utter ...

Shouldn't it have a pickguard? Also, shouldn't the control knobs have a rubber grip insert?

Re: Curse the 30-Day Hold!!!

You know, it would never occur to me to go hunting round a pawn shop in the UK - I'm guessing that's what Mega Mart is.

Re: Curse the 30-Day Hold!!!

No p/g,best I can remember(whatever that's worth)...

Yeah,they did have teh cool knobs,but that's certainly not a deal-breaker!!!

Can you get them from Ibanezrules or something?

Re: Curse the 30-Day Hold!!!

The knobs are replacements, and (as you probably know) the originals get stoopid money on ebay. They have another vintage Ibby on the shelf with the right knobs, so I thought about asking them to swap them.

Ixnay on the ickguardpay.

Mega mart is an oblique reference to a large music chain.

Money has been laid.

What's a pickguard? Is it anything like a scratchplate?

BTW: That's a sweet-ass Artist. (But you already knew that.)

Re: Curse the 30-Day Hold!!!

I played that bad boy on Sunday, it was very tempting to say the least. The only reason I didn't buy it is that I have four old Ibby's from that era, that and the wife would give me serious grief! Glad for you, enjoy the hell out of it. Nothing better than vintage Ibanez.

Nice looking old ride. I had a '78 for a long time. That one was to heavy for me.

Re: Curse the 30-Day Hold!!!

Nice find. And yeah, the 30 day police hold sucks, especially when you're the early bird who sees it the day it comes in. The only good part is that you have more time to pay.
