Well......I pulled the trigger. I purchased a Custom 5 in black/cream for the bridge. I really wasn't sure what to expect. I was hoping the C5 would retain some of the same character as the '59, but I expected it to be quite a bit hotter and fatter. Also, I expected to not like the polished A5 stock mag and would have to go with an UOA5 to like it. I installed it stock and rough guessed the height. I was very pleasantly surprised. It definitely had more low end than the UOA5 '59, but wasn't as mid-vacant as many reviews led me to believe. It did have more guts, but in a PAF kinda way. After 2 days of playing with pickup and pole screw heights, I can very easily say, I like this pickup a lot and it is the best one in there to date. I can't wait to get out to see how it works with the group, but I expect only very good things! I highly recommend this pickup!
