I received a 2018 memphis es-335 trad yesterday, very impressed with the lightweight (7lb 9oz) and the fact that the binding/nibs seems to be way less intrusive on the fret ends.
I'd like the bridge position to be a little bit tighter for palm muting and higher gain type stuff. (70's hard rock/80's early metal, not Drop C sharp chugga chugga though)
but still have good clarity for open chords, the one thing I love about es-335 compared to my les paul with bb pros, is the clarity of every note in a E barre chord across the neck.
Right now bridge is a A2 mhs unpotted , and I think it might squeal at higher volumes.
The A3 mhs neck pickup seems fine to me though, very sweet. And even though its unpotted I think it should be fine since neck pickups are a little more resistant to squealing anyway.
I'm trying to decide between these Duncans... I've tried the WLH, but didn't feel it made much of a difference versus a A2 57 classic.
