Custom/59 quick review.

Hi,
Thanks to all who helped me a month or ago two about the hybrid Custom/59.
I love it. It has a LOT of midrange, which I like very much. Plus, I am able to
CLEAN it up to BB King sounds. Thank you for all your help.
Paired with my TwangBanger in the mid on one Strat, and paired with the neck on my
other Strat, I can still get any sound I want. On stage and at home I set my tone to a BB King
Albert King kind of mix. Clean and touch sensitive. I keep it there at home, but use a stacked
array on stage. HRod Deluxe > tuner > Sparkle Drive for always on slight grit > Rocket "Dude"
for "Dumble" SRV type leads > Rocket Archer for going Big > HOF > DD3 echo > my Snow White
put together Strats, and many other guitars.
Still love my Seths, ECPickups, and 1 ThroBak. Might try an A8 to boost mids in all of those,
except the Custom/59. That one has loads of mids.
Thank you all for you encouragement,
I am a happy and lucky guy to have what I do, and the consul of the folks on this Forum,
Steve Buffington.

Anytime Steve. On behalf of everyone here at Seymour Duncan User Group Forum - Rock on!

Re: Custom/59 quick review.

Have the custom in the Bridge of my Gibson Flying V, never been a big fan of Seymour Duncan puos but a like this one. Good luck dude.

Re: Custom/59 quick review.

The 59/Custom Hybrid is one the most versatile bridge p'up on the Duncan line.

It also gracefully takes mag swaps. It was a discovery of a SDFUG member... what's not to like?

Re: Custom/59 quick review.

It's a great starting point for people who primarily play with gain. It has a little more output and compression than a paf and with a more modern voicing.

Re: Custom/59 quick review.

Thanks Everyone,
So, got a Seth apart and thinking of using an A8 for more mids. The Hybrid is so outstanding I think
an A8 might give me a touch more in a Seth. Thoughts? Might even get another Hybrid, but Dental bills are on my door and knocking loud.
Musicians teeth. 15 years on the road where toothbrushes were a luxury. Not kidding. Yes, that does make me stupid. But in my defense,
I was either drunk, or half drunk with a Female.
Thanks, appreciate it.
Steve

Re: Custom/59 quick review.

Great review! It is currently my favorite bridge pickup, at home in several of my guitars.

Re: Custom/59 quick review.

I honestly don't think my search for bridge humbuckers will go much farther than the 59/C I have in my LTD.
