Yes nice and new thoughts and ideas is what moves the world forward you might want to think about getting a patent on it in case someone wants to move forward with that ideal .

Wow that's awesome. And I really dig the tone you get out of it. Your next build should ve very interesting when you improve upon things you point out in this vid...such as fretboard coupling and all that. looking forward to seeing (and hearing) future builds.

Congrats on finishing it man. I've been waiting to see the results for some months now.

I think you got what you wanted; get a prototype out, see what works, what doesn't re-evaluate things and keep moving forward.

Love it. ;)

Well, whatever "mad scientist" means - i don't know. I am not mad - i do have my wits together. And I am not a scientist. As a matter of fact - this design is more basic than even a fender strat. much more basic.

And i do not think this is so mad that it makes no sense. Makes perfect sense to me. It's called thinking freely and experimenting.

Yes i enjoy it tons, and it's exactly what i wanted. Can you make your strat fretless or microtonal wiithout taking the strings off? haha

Funny how everybody wants to be conventional. I do have a stable of kickass guitars and amps believe me, but it's time for something new, but i need to learn first. and that's the whole point of this - to learn by doing.

Mad Scientist is not meant as an insult, usually that is thrown around in the states as a term for someone who has done something completely unconventional but absolutely genius... (ie. I have a friend who is a bar-tender and everyone calls him the "Mad Scientist" because he mixes very strange concoctions together to make great tasting drinks, I don't partake but thats what my friends say).

Just so were clear there was nothing derogatory intended...

Thanks guys :)
I'm up for more madness shortly. Stay tuned.

My new alchemy formula:
Mahogany table + Power saw and Drill = new Guitar Body

I'm trying to think if there is any aspect of that guitar that is in anyway conventional... well I suppose it does have six strings :)

You really have thought outside the box, come to think of it did you know where the box looked like to start with :)

Nice work and keep it up, ya braver than most of us.
