Custom Custom vs. Parallel Axis Trembucker

25's Nemesis
Hello all.

I was wondering if any of you guys could compare the Custom Custom to the PATB-1b. I currently have a CC in my Carvin DC-127-T (maple neck thru with ebony 'board) paired with a Pearly Gates in the neck. I like the thickness of the CC but I feel I could use a bit more bottom end chunk.

Will the PATB-1 tighten up the lows while still keeping the highs round and the mids thick?

I checked the tone chart and the PATB-1 has a lower resonant peak than the CC, but it also states that it has less mids.

Maybe I'll just have to try one out and see.: popworm:

Re: Custom Custom vs. Parallel Axis Trembucker

I could almost exactly help you out. I swapped my CC in my Peavey out for a PA, but it was a distortion model. I don't really know how it compares to the original, but I am really pleased with the low end. The pup is a little bright, but I just keep the tone rolled back a little and it's fine. I'll probably actually go back to a CC in that guitar as it blended so well with the Hot Rails (especially when split), but the PA Distortion is going in something else.

That's probably not much help, though.

Thanks man, its actually a big help. :)

If the PATB Distortion was brighter than the CC, the PATB-1 is probably brighter than both, right?
