Old thread, but since someone already revived it, I'll put it this way. The Custom Custom is a nice all around pickup but is best for lead playing in my opinion. It has a lot of upper mids and it's loose. The PG+ is tight and more low end and low mids, similar treble to a Custom Custom. The PG+ and CC are both what I would consider bright and warm. Neither ever get harsh, but the PG+ has a tiny bit higher treble I think than the CC.
I've had a PG+ for several weeks now and it's my favorite Duncan at this time. I love to play it more than any of my other Duncan strats. It's very articulate and unforgiving but sounds good for just about anything.
