Custom Custom

So I bought a Hamer Monaco Elite off of e-bay recently. (great guitar!) It has duncan Custom Custom in the bridge and a Custom in the neck. I never had tried a custom custom before.

I gotta say, I'm REALLY liking the custom custom. (I play mostyly hard rock/metal/some blues and classic rock) Smooth highs, great mids, just enough low end. (if you look at the EQ it doesn't have a lot of low end, but my amp and set up is very bassy as is) Nice crunchy distortion, great harmonics, and super cleans. I really like it. Impressed! Its higher output than I expected too. I have a JB in my other guitar and I'd say the custom custom is at least as powerful as the JB, if not a bit more.

I don't know about the Custom in the neck though. Potentially I will replace this. I have to play with it a bit more. But the custom custom is staying in this guitar.

I think Pearly Gates in the neck is an awesome combo!

with a CC I use an Alnico II Pro, Lew uses a Seth (in the same guitar you have) and a PG is also a great match for the CC...good luck!

I have a CC and a Pearly Gates in the neck of my #1 Les Paul. It's a killer Combo.

The CC is the one pup that I wish I had tried before I bought my 81/85 set. I reckon that I will end up trying it down the road.

The SPEC Chart List it as Bass/Mid/Treble.... 3/7/7. that would be my Ideal PUP. I always have my Bass knob and 4...or 5 anyways. I could just turn it up if it's lacking.
