First of all, Salutations!

I'm new at this forum =)

I want to order a guitar from ESP's Custom Shop, it will be mainly for Rythm.

The Specs are:

Solid and Thick Korina Body
3/4" Quilted Maple Top
No Bindings/Mounting Rings/Pickguard
Contoured Heel and Rib Cut
Deep Double Cut
2 Volume Knobs 500 k
2 Tone Knobs 500 k
3 Way Mini Toggle
Push/Pull pots for Coil Tapping
Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Strings Thru Body
Set Thru Korina Neck
24.75" Scale
22 Stainless Steel Medium Frets
Pau Ferro Fingerboard
Mother of Pearl Flag Inlays
Matching Headstock (PRS Style)
Gotoh Tunners
Gold Hardware
EMG Afterburner Pot
Gold Cover for the Pickups
2 Humbuckers
DiMarzio Air Classic Bridge in the Neck Position

For the Bridge I want tight, well defined bass; fat, punchy and juicy mids, present and sweet highs. I want a crunchy and raunchy sound with a lot of harmonics and clarity to open up the sound of the guitar. I like the tone of Satriani, Gilbert, Chris Broderick, Jeff Loomis, Tosin Abasi, Mike Akerfeldt and Paul Waggoner.

My Favorite Rythm sounds are:

Down From The Sky - Trivium
Blooddrunk - Children of Bodom
Annihilation of the Wicked - Nile
Victorious March - Amon Amarth
Hallowed be thy name - Machine Head (yeah the maiden cover)
Cemetary Gates - Pantera

So guys, what SD pickup would do the work?

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

I feel like JB would be a good pickup while still retaining some clarity and definition.

You need to post pictures of that guitar when/if you get it.

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

You're all over the place dude. I see a couple dimebucker and invader users on that list, but I'll say Duncan Distortion or Alt 8. If you're legit you will love the CS Esp.

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

I would like to go with passive pickups for this project. After narrowing my mind I can say that with this guitar I want to go a little more refined. So the sounds Iim after are the ones from Satriani. Gilbert, Akerfeldt and Paul Waggoner. The songs after narrowing are:

Down From The Sky - Trivium
Victorious March - Amon Amarth
Hallowed be thy name - Machine Head (yeah the maiden cover)

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

All three of those bands use 5150s, so perhaps that would be the more vital ingredient.

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

Alt 8 will get you a Huge chunky tone. Balls galore!

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like an awesome axe!

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

Thanks for the replies!

I'm not really looking for a 5150 amp right now, I'm rather looking for a SD humbucker that fits my needs, no offense though.

I am interested in SH-5 and SH-10. Could they fit my needs?

Re: Custom ESP Rythm Guitar Project

Hey guys, I asked DiMarzio Tech for this project and they told me to try a Norton in the Bridge position. What do you think? Can contact a Seymour Duncan Tech to ask the same question?
