Re: Custom foam inserts for hard case

I use foam all day long, get some sizes and I'll send you the foam for free if you cover the postage. I'll even cut it to shape if you send me a template. Send me a pm if you're interested.

Hey Don; Can you tell us what kind of foam you use? (So everyone in the forum doesn't hit you up for free foam.) :D

Hi mate, sorry for the late reply, I don’t come on too often at the minute and have only just seen your post.

I use polyethylene foam and it’s a foam I use for automotive component packaging. It’s closed cell so it won’t absorb any moisture, it can be wiped clean and has very good anti abrasion characteristics. If you 2ant any more info please send me a pm.

Ah. Thanks man. Ignore my other reply. (In the PM.) I see now what this is all about.

I'll send a PM. ;)

Hope all is well, Don. :)

Ah Mr John Jolly... yes all good thanks, you? Been crazy busy this past 18 months or so, in chronological order.... my eldest moved out and got married, my youngest moved out, had a son so our first grandchild, then my eldest and his wife gave us a granddaughter and now my youngest is getting married in 2 weeks time. I spend most weekends doing work on their houses so I’m alway busy! Ha ha....l I really hope all is well with you, and what about Joe and Anna, are they all OK?

Artie, yes send me a pm mate and hopefully I can help

I use a couple of different manufacturers of foam, the main ones are PALZIV who are an Israeli company but they do have a plant in the USA, and ZoteFoams who are UK owned but I believe also have a US plant.

Typically Zotefoam LD grades are very good as they are fairly soft but robust with excellent impact resistance, the PALZiV foams are a good but cheaper alternative. So for you guys in the USA you just need to find foam converters who stock these products. Steer clear of Ethafoam (Jiffy foam, Stratocell) as generally these are cheaper 1 way packaging materials, the type of material used on the ends of white goods such as washing machines, freezers etc etc.

Hope that helps.

What about the cans of spray foam
