Re: Custom footswitch
Based on the diagram you posted earlier, it's gonna be quite simple.
-One large enclosure (such as 1590DD Hammond-style)
-3 spdt (or dpdt using only one side) footswitches
-4 leds with bezels
-Wire
-7pin male and female connectors (buy 3-4 of each so you can experiment)... I always like to build my switches with removable cable as opposed to hardwired. That way, you can make yourself a short cable for home-use and a longer one for gigs if needed. YOu'll need 2 males (one on each end of your cable) and a female on your enclosure
-7 conductor cable...that's the trickiest part (at least for me in canada). Check eBay for that stuff. It's not gonna be cheap.
Drill your enclosure according to the layout of the switches you're looking for (be sure to allow plenty of space for your feet... place two as close to the edge as you can and one in the center).
-Drill your led holes according to the bezels
-Drill your enclosure for the female 7-pin connector
-Connect everything as per the diagram
-Solder the male 7-pins to each end of the cable making sure that each strand is connected to the exact same pin on each male connector.
You need the aforementioned hardware, a good soldering iron, some heatshrink and some patience.
