I'm making my own take on a fender jazzmaster, and had a question about pickups/covers.
my design does not include a pickguard the "wraps" around both pickups like on a regular j-master, so the P-90 covers will be for the most part right up against wood. my question is: will the "traditional" jazzmaster pickup covers (with the four knobs sticking out) look bad/messy/dumb without a pickguard to outline it? should I just go with regular soapbar covers, a la reverend's new stage king line? (http://www.reverenddirect.com/rever...ge_king_series/hi_res/charger_290_gld_big.jpg) I'd like to retain as much jazzmaster "vibe" as possible, so that was the reason for going with the traditional covers, but I could go either way.
thanks in advance for the opinions/insight.
