Customising a Full Shred. I'm clearly insane.

I feel sorry for my Full Shred I was going through a "ceramic magnet conquers all" stage, so I did the basic magnet swap. And the pickup went into many guitars over the years. I always thought the full shred was the one pickup that benefited from a switch of magnet. Anyway, another pickup I liked the look of, Aesthetically speaking, was the full shred. So I replaced the bottom row of Hex screws with standard screws an the result is Super. Of course I'm going to say that I modded the pickup and I doubt the of you won't understand why I did it, but for those who have a SH-10 and think it's lacking something, give it a try. The magnet and the windings go hand in hand, with the row of normal screws adding a touch of bass, at least to my ear. Of course I've scuffed the bobbins, but it sounds so much nicer. What do we think people, should I get myself sectioned?

Nah it's your stuff. Do what you want with it.

Though IIRC, the FS is just the Custom 5 with hex poles, so that would mean you currently have the SH-5 Custom with hex screws instead of slugs. Kind of interesting. Got any clips so we can hear it?

I used the full shred & made a hybrid with a distortion then added the double ceramic to it. it has screws on the distortion side and allens on the full shred.

Then I got the neck version of each and made a hybrid of those too, but with an alnico 5 mag.

I notice you say, "another" pickup. Was one of those references to a Full Shred a typo? Did you mean an Invader, in there somewhere?

So basically I'm turning one seymour duncan into another? Turns out I'm not as clever as I thought.
I don't have any clips at this time as I'm on holiday.

Well it's still pretty unique since it's got a row of hexes. I'd imagine it sounds like a slightly tighter Custom, less bass, more articulation maybe.
