I bought it on ebay in 2006 brand new and played it until like 2010 when i upgraded all my gear after afghanistan.

Here it was brand new

The veneer of quilted maple started peeling itself off a few years ago, and the agathis had acquired a few good dings. The neck had gotten atrociously wavey too. So i took it back from my bro to paint white and fix the neck.

He grew weary of the EMG's as well, so I'm installing some white GFS power rails. I'm not sure if the pickups will sound good to my ears, but since he pretty much plays only metal, he'll probably like them.

As usual I love refinish threads,.... I have been on and off considering a LTD MH just for the kicks of a project.

I definitely recommend a neck-thru or set neck version though, 400 series and up.

The set/thru neck will make it much harder to refinish though.

the GFS power rails are hotter than i usually prefer even for metal, but they still retain a lot of clarity for their output and cost. kinda like a dimebucker with less treble. they also clean up nicely when you roll off the volume.

i wired it with independent volumes and no tone circuit. i also used the 500k pots i pulled out of my 71 les paul.

Im seriously considering changing the color of that one too. Either black/blue or black/orange with no burst.
