Time for a new Amp.

Hey guys got a few questions,
So around me in the Phila Pa area, I can't seem to find a shop that carries enough of Metal amps to go and try out.

I'm currently rocking a Krank Revolution 1 100 watt 2 x 12 combo and it's badass but I got that itch to have different tone.
My clean channel is amazing. It's Fender like as I grew up playing Fender amps and my all time favorite has been the Twin Reverb. Nothing on the
plenty earth I like better for a clean channel then that amp.
My Drive channel is evil brutal and tight but thats all it can do. Yeah you can back off the gain and get some sorta rock or 80's metal tones but it still has that modern tight gain sound even when all the way down. I usually play around 3 or 4 gain and thats all I need.

So here is a list of amps I have played or want to but can't seem to find.

1) Black Star
HT Metal 60 watt combo. This amp sound damn good for Drive but the cleans are nothing to write home about. I think with enough time dialing it in, I can create all the tones I want or need.
I heard the series one is a badass amp but I have yet to plug into one. I believe Sam Ash has a few of them so I'm gonna go check them out.

2) Bogner
I use to be able to plug in at Russo's music. From what I remember they all of them had a wide range of tones I really liked but at that time they where just out of my budget. Today I believe I can get into one IF it's the one.

3) Randall
Another company that seems to really come back or at least in my eyes and from the sound clips I have heard , They are absolutely for me but again without plugging in how the hell can you know?

4) EVH
Yeah cleans suck ass despite what they say in the demo's online. I have plugged into a few of these and never walked away wanting more. Actually I'm pretty disappointed in this amp as Fender made it so I figured it would be amazing. With Eddie's type tone from years ago with Peavey which the 5150 is very like the Krank tone without the killer clean tone. I almost picked one up but the clean channel sucks so bad I just couldn't. I like to write clean stuff a lot and use chorus delay reverb type stuff to really get a wonderful clean tone. Even dry is really nice with a good hum bucker neck position pickup or a really nice Hot rail dialed in properly.
The gain channels where nice but I felt something was off on all of the ones I played. The Full size head and the 50 watt version in white brand new. I even waited like 5 minutes before playing to warm the tubes up in stand by then full on after 3 minutes to really get the tubes cooking. Still didn't give me that creative feeling inside to want to explore more.

5)Egnater
Now I have seen one of these in my travels but never plugged in. I have heard they are very good but need to test drive.

Any other amps to try or look at? Here is my needs if you didn't figure it out.

1) Clean channel needs to be very usable and able to take modulated effects extremely well in the loop or up front depending on effect.
2) Versatile Drive channel where if I don't want to I don't need a boost pedal to get up to todays style Modern gain tones. And the ability to back off and structure a killer 80's like metal tone. I'm a 80's metal guitar player but I have a modern adapted playing style. Think Disturbed meets Metallica meets George Lynch and thats basically my style. I adapted the choppy style like Disturbed with a palm muting of Metallica with a bit of George Lynch thrown in there as he is my favorite guitar player of all time I just can't play like him. I'm no where near that good LOL.

I'm a tone freak, if my tone is off even little I'm completely annoyed. I have to dial in and get it to sound like how I feel that day. I'm not the kind of guy who cares anything about the brand name on my amp. It's why I currently have a Krank despite all the negative things that where said about that company years ago. I don't care about any of that , the amp has to do what I want it to do and thats that. I also feel that way about Black Star, many people kick those amp and I'm one of them as I have played many of them and never came home with one. Even the HT Metal 60 I was most impressed with but at that time not enough to buy it. I want to play it again and dig deeper to see if there is anything there for me as the way it's designed it perfect with built in reverb, tone building ISF knob , effects loop and the one thing I also really like about it is it's 60 watts and I can turn that down to 5watts. My Krank is way to powerful for home practice but sound great at low volume but it sound way better Kranked and thats not good for basement playing.

Help me guys give an old guitar player some modern advise. Anyone know a good shop to go to around me?

Re: Time for a new Amp.

I would suggest the Marshall DSL 40 if you like Fender cleans but want to be able to also get high gain tones. The Classic Gain will get you your 80's tones. The Ultra Gain has two settings lead 1 and 2 that will give you your high gain stuff. All the amps you mentioned are fantastic however it will probably be easier finding a DSL 40 you can check out.
