Does Brian Adams play a strat on "Cuts Like A Knife" or is that a Jackson? I can't remember, I always picture those 80's guys playing Jackson's.

One of Brain's favourite studio amps is a Vox AC30 and he was known to use Ric's a lot in the studio...... Live i have seen photos of both Brain and Keith Scott with Stock Strats and in the 80's they also had Super Strats with locking trem bars and stuff..... Live i've seen photos of their amps being Marshall and Fenders as well depending on the years..... Around the Live Aid period you could see Brain a lot with a 70's Les Paul Deluxe with added Humbuckers, not the stock mini humbuckers.

The more that I learn and hear about the VOX AC30, the more I want one. Many great tunes have been made with it. it may work for me too.

They were just in town the other day and I saw 'em. They played Stratocasters, and what appeared to be Marshall Plexi reissues. His guitar player whipped out a Les Paul now and then. Overall, I thought the tone was great, but the lead was not cutting through as well as it could have to my ears. They played no Jacksons, but Phil Collen for Def Leppard played a slew of them later.

I saw 'em the other day, too. All of Bryan's electrics were Strats, regular old 21-fret SSS deals. I saw a Vox and a Fender amp by him on stage, and Marshalls by Keith Scott, who played mostly Strats, a sparkle Gretsch, and I believe a Les Paul on one tune. They did one tour a couple of years ago as a trio with Bryan playing bass, but he has always been primarily a guitar player. I found it interesting that some of Phil Collen's Jacksons had Strat headstocks. Being owned by Fender leads to cross-breeding, I suppose. Vivian Campbell played a Les Paul just about the whole time. Both acts were great performers, it was an excellent show (the girlfriend really dug it, too).

I know he was in Whitesnake for a few minutes. I don't think he's on any albums, but he's in the videos and was in the touring band. He used to be associated with the Kramer Nightswan and the Full Shred pickup. The best day of his life was probably when he got the call from Def Leppard after Steve Clark died.Guitar Toad said:

You know, I did find it kind of funny that Keith Scott never once brought out one of his signature model Gretsches. http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G6120KS&cat1=&cat2=&q=&st=1 A very cool looking guitar - but why design a signature model and never play it? He played what looked to be a solid body jet for a song or two. I mean, why not design a signature Strat, that's what he mostly played. It's all Fender anyway.

Those are Jackson Phil Collen signatures. They're a strat-type headstock, but I think the nut width might match the Jackson, but not sure. At any rate, they sounded great and looked absolutely fantastic.
I'm Jonesin for one for sure.
