Hi there, I've a Guild F512 (2007) that came with Lock n Load D-Tar, it's been great for many years, but now the end screw, which unscrews to acces the batteries and to which the 1/4 jack goes into, is knacked. Problem is, this is now a deleted item, might anyone know where I could get a replament end as it's impossible to fix this piece, thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

If it is discontinued, I'd just contact Seymour Duncan directly and see if they have the missing parts you need. Calling will be the fastest/easiest way:

Thank you, but I did already and they can't help either.

Why do they make this expensive stuff and then pull it, nor keep spares for the future, it's frustrating.

Seems I'm going to have to put in a whole new pick-up system :@(

Does Guild have those in stock? They should have warrantied them.

Re: D Tar Lock n Load End 1/4 input

if duncan stops making em, fender cant get anymore. sucks all around

Re: D Tar Lock n Load End 1/4 input

nope it was like 95 through 2014 or something like that. cordoba owns em last i knew. fender moved guild production around a few times. they closed the ri plant and moved production to ca, then to wa, then ct. im sure anything they had as backstock is gone or lost in some warehouse

Re: D Tar Lock n Load End 1/4 input

The 1/4 jack isn't being held tightly in the end jack plug (internal is loose), thus causing a crackling sound with movement and at times, completely loses sound. There's no way around the problem, my guitar tech has tried, simply need to replace the screw end cap.
As mentioned, there's probably one sitting on a shelf somewhere, Lord knows where though?
I've pitched for removal of the system, replacing it with a Fishman Real Earth (humbucker), with a bit of eq tweaking it sounds the same...thanks guys for your input, play on.

I might start with some acoustic specialty shops that are also Guild dealers...they might have one sitting on a shelf for repairs.

I found one here at my shop. If you still need it send me an email through the forum.
