D'Addario XPND Pedal Board finally here!

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
So, it finally arrived. Here we go...full review and multiple pics coming.

First, you have to assemble it. But that was easy with 12 hex bolts and included Allen key. Slightly annoyed because I was excited, but I get it keeps the cost down.

Here is a pic of it in its smallest for

And here we are in extended mode. You can see the little lock tabs that open/close to expand or lock it in place.

Or, what if you have a bunch of big double button pedals? No problem. Threw a mini in there for scale. This thing could hold maybe 7 Boss or 8 MXR/Ibanez 9 series. And, that T-Rex Viper is straddling the line. There is maybe a mm or 1.5mm in height between the two halves. It sat on there no problem.

That little piece of plastic between the rails is a cable channel. You get 4 of those - two for each half. I don't think you could put any power under it, it's pretty low. It does have some little adjustable feet two in the back.

All in all, I'm pretty jazzed about it! I was sizing it up with ideas for a Zen Anything board (pic 1) a Rock board (pic 2) a Harder Rock board with delays (pic 3) and an Everything Blues board (pic 4)

It comes with velcro (hard side) already on it, and some more for pedals.

Pretty cool. I could see getting one to add the Wah on the side.

Is that Velcro on the rails?

I use Dual Lock, so if it is Velcro, can it be easily removed?

Welcome to the forum!

I think when you buy it, it comes with nothing on the rails. I use dual lock, too, as the glue side of velcro can't stand up to the hot Florida summers very well, but the glue on the dual lock does.

Hi Mincer, thanks for the kind words!

Hopefully you are correct about the Velcro, as I prefer there being no Velcro on it.

Also, I keep reading conflicting info about whether a Power Supply will fit under it (FWIW, I have a CIOKS DC7).

Do you know if it will fit it (it being the smaller model)?

I found this on the D'Addario site:

Can I mount a power supply under the XPND pedalboards?

XPND 1: There is a limited amount of space to mount a power supply beneath XPND 1. Currently, the only power supplies that have been confirmed by our team to fit underneath the XPND 1 pedalboard are:
  • XPND Pedal Power Battery Kit
  • Cioks DC7
  • KSE Falken 1
  • Voodoo Lab Pedal Power x4
  • Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-5 Pro
  • Rockboard ISO Power Block V6
  • Mission Engineering 529X

OK! Well, I guess we know, then! Thing is, when they give dimensions of the pedalboard, you'd think they would mention how much clearance there is under there, so they don't have to test this out. We could figure it out if they provided dimensions.
