Score!!!! they're gorgeous, I bet they play every bit as good as they look. Thanks for the info on the refins, sounds like something worth looking into.

Looking into it is cool and all that, but I'm betting they'll be gone pretty soon and I'm taking a big bet that there will not be any more coming along. Just my theory. I hope it's true. I'd love to have one of only a handful that was made.

Check Dave's website. Or Wildwoods. I'm not sure why these went for what they went for, but as we all know, everything is for sale and has a bare minimum price. Seems that since Dave is getting out of the Gibson business, he's doing some good stuff. But, I do not think he's having a fire sale. why should he? These are his last ones for at least this year. He doesn't need the money. His pics are back on the net.

i can tell you this, his prices have always been as good or better than anyone else out there. Wildwood seems to deal a lot as well. I guess as long as the offer isn't too unreasonable. Small shop, low overhead, etc.,.

That all being said, I'm pretty stunned you can buy a new reissue for less than 2K. There's got to be a lot of guys that don't like that off-set center seam apparently.

Re: Damn you LedZepp29!

Superb axe Scott, and that R8 has a gorgeous top!

A refinished R7 ? I guess the stock finish was Goldtop ? I might grab a R7 Goldtop by the end of the year.

they're called that because they're styled after the old trend of refinishing a 50's GT to a burst, its just an idea that Dave's and Wildwood came up with and made a small custom order of, they have never been gold before, the name is a bit misleading, but if you think about it the price it would cost to finish a guitar in gold, then in sunburst would be very expensive because you have to refinish the entire guitar to match. They have off center seamed tops because thats how they made the GT is the 50's, I like it, its not very noticable but it does make up for the cliche of sunburst les pauls IMO. The seam can either be through the toggle switch like Scotts, or in between the E and B strings, like mine-

I love the look of it, its original because of the off center seam but its still got a very cool Jimmy Page type of look IMO

I talked to Nathan at Music Machine and he said he hasn't seen one of those in a LONG time, he said gibson only makes a handful of them during a couple different times of the year. You can find them on ebay for about that
