Piece of pickup box foam right behind the nut does the trick on my DX-7.
I've also had to stuff some behind Floyd springs.

I only do it when playing live & the panties start flying...

I've seen guys do this on a Bass but have never tried it on either Bass or Guitar...I think the ringing out is part of the tone but it does sound like it could be done easily with a sport wrist band or something similar
