Re: Dang I just bought a 24.75 scale Start neck by mistake..

MOVING YOUR SADDLES 3/4 OF AND INCH FORWARD DOESNT WORK . YOUR SADDLES WILL EITHER BE ON TOP OF YOUR BRIDGE PLATE SCREWS OR OFF THE BRIDGE COMPLETELY . WHERE DO YOU GUYS COME FROM ?

THERE'S NO NEED TO RAISE YOUR FCKING VOICE

On another scale conversion note, I've been thinking of trying to make a 25" scale conversion neck for Fender, since I can't convince the fine folks at Warmoth that THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN RIGHT F@$@$@#ING NOW.

YOU KNOW, THAT'S ACTUALLY NOT A BAD IDEA

USACG has made them for years.

In my limited experience, nobody makes a neck that can touch USACG's quality. Don't let their lame website influence your opinion too much.

Warmoth's 24.75 Strat necks are drop-in conversion necks. As long as you are fine with having a Gibson scale on your Strat, it would have worked with no mods to the bridge.

do they drop into fender guitars no problem?

Literally the first sentence about their conversion necks on the page I linked is
All conversion necks work with any standard (25 1/2" scale) body.

So yes, that is specifically what they are for - dropping in to Fender bodies no sweat.

Completely wrong!

I have purchased several 24.75 inch conversion necks for Stratocasters, including a Warmoth with the top of the neck being angles like a Gibsons Les Paul.

Nothing to it!

Dependent on the gauge of the strings, bends are slightly easier than on a regular 25.5 Strat neck.

Tone wise - no difference.

Bridge setup is same, as matter of FACT, I did not have to make any change to set-up for this scale neck. Frets are in same location as a Les Paul.

Stratman, you are responding to a post that is not correct / true / credible.

Pretty condescending, too. The all-caps post, that is.

Dude knows so much about guitars that he'll yell at you about scale length yet is somehow completely unaware of the Warmoth conversion necks that have been around for years.

Purchased several Warmoth and USACustom necks over the years.

Had stopped purchasing Warmoth for about 5 years, then decided to give them another chance. SO far - it is working out!

Check out these alternate scales:

Retro-fit Conversion Guitar Necks

We offer three different "alternate" scale replacement necks for those looking for a different feel on their favorite bolt-on body.

25" scale - 22 frets
24 3/4" scale - 22 frets
28 5/8" scale baritone - 24 frets

All conversion necks work with any standard (25 1/2" scale) body. Square fingerboard end overhangs are only available on these retro-fit conversion necks - sorry no rounded fingerboard ends due to the way in which the different scale is achieved.

(That means no Telecasters!)

The heel shape of Strat® necks is rounded at the end, Teles® are squared. Strat® necks will fit Tele® bodies but show a gap at the corners. Tele® necks may not intonate on a Strat® body without neck pocket modification.
