"Dark Skies"

Re: "Dark Skies"

don't like the compression. I like the ideas alot. the tone is cool, the drum composition is awesome! And the bass sound is cool too!
The tapping part adds a nice vibe and makes the song more interesting.
Cool stuff!

you being a drummer - thats a good compliment there,
Thanks for listening - much appreciated,
Yep, pretty cool bro. Your mixing sounds improved. I'd like to hear it with vocals.

Thanks man, you have some awesome mixing skills - thanks for the insights a few months back, they helped :)

Re: "Dark Skies"

Very cool, man. Heavy tones, definitely. Really cool playing. I'd perhaps bring the drums slightly more forward, but not much. I think it would emphasize your playing a bit more. It's instrumental, but you have made it interesting from start to finish. Good stuff!

Thanks much, I EQed the drums and lowered the limiter/compressor for each track. Once I make time I want to play bass in a rock, pop, or hardrock/metal band with a singer, so my stuff loops some but I think the solos tie things together for my instrumentals. Thanks for the insights/CCs too :)

Re: "Dark Skies"

ron, i've found i really dig your stuff. what is your setup?

Re: "Dark Skies"

Music reminds me of Sabbath.
Vocals like early Halford. When he's singing in normal range.

Bro, you have awesome equipment and I dig your spinal tap reference, just watched that dvd again last night. I hope to get better gear for playing live; I figure I can do that in a year or two. I dig orange 2x12 cabs too. My rig is the cheapest entry level stuff out there; I love it.

I play:

- an epi sg with stock emg81/85s ($250)

- a rogue full size bass ($100)

- plug everything into my line 6 toneport reamped platinum ($100)

- reaper interface ($50), ezdrummer ($100), voxformer plugin for vox ($50)

so anyone can do it, and I hope more out there start up and have as much fun with it as I do. cheers :beerchug:

this is awesome :) I listen to tons of sabbath, and I respect Halford's earlier stuff, many thanks

You've definitely got something going on there, Ron.
Very cool! I like it!

Thanks brutha, this makes my day, thanks for listening, cheers :cool2::friday:

Re: "Dark Skies"

even if you say your stuff is "entry level," you are definitely making the most out of it! keep it up.
