Dark Sun preset change killing delay trails :(

Dear community
i just bought the Dark Sun pedal which sounds really great.
I have it on my pedalboard, linked outside my Musicom Lab EFX LEII, but which changes presets with midi (as well as my Strymon Mobius).
The midi works perfectly except.... that when you change from one preset to another, the delay trails are killed.
I looked for a solution but didn't find it yet...
Is there a way to have it working, meaning when i change from Preset A to Preset B, the delay repeats from Preset A continue with Preset B engaged.
Greeting from Paris/France!

Welcome to the forum!

I don't have a Dark Sun here, but I was wondering if you switch presets manually (not with MIDI), do the trails continue?

Hi Mincer,
i change the presets on the Dark Sun with midi (with the Musicom Lab PC messages). But i've tried also manually and get the same result : the delay repeats are cut (too bad).
Of course I have also set the Trails ON on all the presets, but same behaviour... In fact the trails ON option works well if you bypass the effect (stomp on Bypass) : the delay repeats continue nicely.
I hope there is a solution to this issue as this pedal is real gold !

From what I can tell, the trails button only works when you bypass the pedal. I think you are talking about what is also called 'preset spillover'. I think the Dark Sun has to lflush the current preset before loading the next, so my guess is that this isn't possible. Maybe someone else here can confirm this.

Hello Mincer,
yes you're right this is it : spillover or carryover.
I've asked the customer service from SD and received finally the following answer : "I was told by our engineering that there should be a firmware update that should improve this issue. I don't have any timeline as when this will happen though, it could still be several months away as it does require some time on our programmer's end of things."
So for those interested, you have to wait ! Meanwhile, using the bypass let you have the trails working perfectly.

Oh well at least it is going to be implemented somehow. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
