On the original album it's Dave playing a Fender Stratocaster, great songs from back then..

+1 on Watchtower. And he plays acoustic backing Jimi on his studio version of the song as well. Check out wikipedia for interesting info. I saw him many moons ago in a small venue at Hofstra U. Really talented, moving performer. Very underrated.

I saw him at Hofstra too. Gabe Kaplan (pre-Kotter) was the opening act. Great show.
