Dave Murray Pickguard

Hey guys, we've just released the Dave Murray Pickguard, which uses the same pickups Dave has been using for years and comes in black, white & pearloid. Here's some info:

Iron Maiden’s Dave Murray has been using the Hot Rails and JB Jr. single coil-sized humbucking pickups for years because of their power and versatility. As Dave puts it, “My Seymour Duncan pickups give me everything I need to get the maximum gain and versatility out of my guitar, but still with that classic Strat look.”

Now anybody can easily customize their Strat with Dave Murray’s preferred pickup set with the Seymour Duncan Dave Murray Loaded Pickguard For Stratocaster. It comes pre-loaded with the neck and bridge versions of the Hot Rails with a JB Jr. in the middle position, as well as high-quality Bourns volume and tone pots and a 5-way pickup selector switch. You can get it in Pearloid, Black and White versions, each with the 11-hole mounting style which fits most post-1964 Strats. Each set comes with personalized with special stickers as well as pickguard installation instructions.

Does Murray actually use the middle pickup, though?

pickguard installation instructions.

It's a loaded Strat pickguard please tell me people really don't need installation instructions.

Re: Dave Murray Pickguard

Any plans for the future for making a HSH like in his black '57 Strat?

Re: Dave Murray Pickguard

Thanks for the info. Dave has been using hotrails for years and years it seems.

Anything new at NAMM Scott or was this the only offering?

Re: Dave Murray Pickguard

What year/album was it exactly when Murray switched from Super Distortions and PAFs to Hot Rails?

I know he used a JBs as well as Super Distortions in the early 90's. First time I saw the Hot Rails was in 2000 at Dynamo Open Air.

OK. That is about the same idea as I had about it. I would expect someone at SD to know more precisely.

Re: Dave Murray Pickguard

Needs to be the Floyded version. Dave has always had a locking trem, at least since he's been using Duncans.

And yeah, installation instructions for hooking up 2 grounds and a hot. The end is nigh.

Re: Dave Murray Pickguard

Hi Scott,
Hi folks,
is the pickguard loaded with 500k or 250k pots for volume and tone control? Or even 500k for volume and 250k for the tone control?
And what about the capacitor size? Is it 22nF or 47nF?
