David Gilmour Bridge Pickup Control Mod

Has anyone wired their ssl-1/ssl-1/ssl-5 strat up with the Gilmour bridge pickup control mod (the mod that gives you the additional options of having your bridge/neck or bridge/middle/neck pickups on at the same time)?

If so, how would you describe the neck/bridge and neck/middle/bridge tones?

I'm debating on doing the Gilmour mod or just doing the ssl-5 tap.

Yes and no. I have done the DG-style neck PU switch mod BUT not with SSL-5/1/1 pickups.

The neck and bridge PU pairing makes a pleasant Blues tone. (Kinda like a Fender Jaguar only without all of the metallic rattling noises.) All three PUs on together in parallel always strikes me as messy.
