DD HB-103 Wiring

Got a quick question.

I had ask before and was told that the 4 color coded wires on the Duncan Designs were the same as regular Duncans.

I have ran into a little problem. On the regular Duncans I am taking out, the bare wire is twisted and soldered in with the green wire. On the set of Designs I am putting in, the bare wire is ran with the Black wire.

Should I solder the black wire on the Design to the same terminal the green wire from the regular Duncan came from? If so, does the green wire on the Design get swapped over to where the black wire went on the terminal? Do the Red and White wires go in the same place?

Re: DD HB-103 Wiring

Here's some pics if that helps.

Here is the regular Duncan. See how the bare ground is with the green wire? This is what made me question the color coding on the Design.

Here is the Design. The bare ground is ran with the Black wire.

Here is what I am working with. I was planning on just putting the same color wires back where they came from onto the terminals, but I don't think it would come out right since the ground is ran on a different color. If someone can just tell me what color wires on a regular Duncan equate to on the Design, I can run from there.

Re: DD HB-103 Wiring

Should I strip enough of the bare ground to run with the green wire on the Design so it's going back to the same terminal?

Re: DD HB-103 Wiring

Finding the black conductor linked with the bare ground and the green conductor left long usually suggests that the DunDes HB has seen service in a HSS guitar.

Tidying up the cabling is less trouble than flipping the magnet.

Re: DD HB-103 Wiring

I have a Jagmaster that came with HB103's and was wired with the blacks to ground along with the shield. When I was swapping them out for a '59/JB combo I got on Fender's website and dug up a schematic - it indicated black to ground. I went ahead and wired the new PU's in the same way - gotta keep it all appearing stock!!!
