DD/PG, a truly odd couple

I just finished putting 'em in today....what a pleasant surprise! I was worried about how the DDb and PGn would sound together, being so different from one another. I loved the DD in the bridge in my SG-X, so I knew this was a keeper. This is my first experience with the PG. I've had it for over a year just waiting for the right axe to come along.

The DD of course is nice and crunchy, roll back the tone knob a bit for a little more "meat". I'm loving the PG. It's probably one of the most balanced neck pickups I can remember playing. It reminds me of the 490R that was in there, but with more a more present top end. A lot of neck pickups can be too warm and round for me. The top end definition of the PG compliments the DD very well. Going from rhythm on the bridge to some upper register soloing with the PG are almost seamless, they sound so similar in their respective places. It's kind of like a souped up JB/'59 combo only less shrill (JB), and less woofy ('59).
